TICKETING PROCESS UPDATE

Only a small number of our faithful (we have about 1 million Catholics in the UAE) can attend the papal mass. Your cooperation and grace to make Pope Francis’ visit to the UAE a success is of utmost importance. All are requested to follow the guidelines offered by the UAE Government and the UAE Papal Visit Office. 
  

Venue

• The venue for the celebration of the Papal Mass is Zayed Sports City, Abu Dhabi.
• The capacity of the venue (inside Zayed Sports City Stadium and outside locations within Zayed Sports City which is offered by the Govt. for the Papal Mass) is approximately 120,000.
• Tickets will be limited to this number.

  
Live Streaming of Papal Mass

• The Papal Mass will be live-streamed in all our churches.
• The Papal Mass will also be live-streamed on the website www.uaepapalvisit.org

  
Ticketing & Distribution

• Entry will be ticketed (free-of-charge).
• All tickets will be printed and handed over by the AVOSA Papal Visit Office and are expected to reach parishes around 20th January 2019.
• Majority of tickets will be for the Catholic faithful of the Apostolic Vicariate of Southern Arabia (AVOSA).
• A quota is also reserved for the Apostolic Vicariate of Northern Arabia (AVONA).
• The AVOSA Papal Visit Office will dispatch tickets on a quota system to all parishes of AVOSA and AVONA. 
• The Parishes will then distribute tickets to various quotas within the parish. 
• Stay tuned to your parish websites for announcements regarding ticket distribution within the parish.
• Special assistance if required should be informed at the time of registration. We will try to facilitate as much as possible.
   

Quota system

• Parishes will list out all the main representations of the parish – by community, ministry, movements, etc. with the aim to ensure as much a broad representation as possible. 

 Residents of countries outside the GCC

• For residents of countries outside the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC)  - UAE, Oman, Qatar, Bahrain, KSA & Kuwait a very limited number of tickets will be available. Details of the process will follow shortly. 
• Please note that no person shall be admitted to the stadium without a ticket.  

Warnings against fraud

• The faithful are requested to be on their guard against anyone offering tickets for sale or offering tickets through unauthorized channels. 
• The only official channels for ticket distribution are through the AVOSA and AVONA parishes and authorized representatives of the parish.
• The only official source of information regarding attendance for the Papal mass is the website www.uaepapalvisit.org or the official social channels of the Vicariate (@avosarabia on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram)
• We are not responsible for information transmitted via any other user accounts on Facebook or WhatsApp other than the official channels listed above.

 
Details on transportation and on-site facilities will be issued at the time of ticket distribution.
